Clinical Licensure

In each state, practice as a psychologist is governed by statute; graduation from the doctoral program in clinical psychology does not by itself certify a person to practice as a psychologist. The states have additional requirements for license to practice. This most typically includes a post-doctoral year of supervised clinical practice.
