NOTICE:
Changes to the Program for 2010 will have an impact on the sources and amounts of financial aid.
Tuition
A fixed rate of $15,000/calendar year ($5,000/semester) has been established for the program. Students may compete for university scholarships or graduate assistantships that will carry stipends and/or tuition reductions. Tuition for in-state students accepting assistantships or scholarships will be reduced to $6,000/year; tuition for out-of-state students will be reduced to $8,000/year.
Financial Aid
Dedicated sources of funding for assistantships in the Virginia Consortium will be eliminated. Students may compete for university scholarships or graduate assistantships that will carry stipends and/or tuition reductions. However, since sources will no longer be dedicated to the program, assistantships may not be guaranteed when offers must be made (April 1). Offers of admission must be accepted or declined by April 15; thus an applicant may need to be prepared to accept admission while a decision about a competitive award is pending.
