College Of Sciences Distinguished Teaching Awards
To recognize significant contributions to the teaching mission of Old Dominion University, two members will be chosen each year to receive the College of Sciences Distinguished Teaching Award.The $500 monetary award recognizes outstanding teaching, innovative pedagogy, concern for students and exemplary contributions to the educational process outside the classroom.
Nominations for this award are now being accepted.Students, faculty, and administrators are welcome to submit nominations for this award.
One award of $500 will be reserved for faculty and lecturers.
The second $500 award will be reserved for adjuncts and instructors.
The deadline for submission of the nominations is Wednesday, March 15th, 2006.All letters of nomination should be sent directly to the Dean's office.The Dean's office will make the final selection of the Distinguished Teaching Award and will notify each award recipient, as well as those candidates who were considered for the award but not selected to receive it.
The Distinguished Teaching Award will be presented at the College of Sciences Awards Day on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 11 am in Mills Godwin Building.
